A recently released video promoting women’s freedom of choice is generating widespread reactions throughout India, and has 2 million+ hits. The video, entitled "My Choice", features 99 women, including Bollywood star Deepika Padukone, and is part of Vogue Empower, Vogue India’s social awareness initiative.
After watching this video and reading all the stupid comments by some guys are girls who are not getting the real idea or theme of this video or Who haven't captured the gist of the video , i am feeling pity for them.
I heard many people(both women and men) commenting rudely and considering this video as trash.
Is it a trash ??!!! Really??!!
Do you understand what a choice is?? its an Option, its there... its not necessary you TAKE IT...
It's frustrating that such a good video can be so misunderstood. The video nor Deepika both do not promote cheating or adultery or sex before marriage. All she's saying is, we women have a CHOICE ; be it in what we wear, what time to come home, to drink, to smoke, to party, to have premarital sex. We have a choice and we should have the right to exercise that choice as much as every other man. I'll give you an example. It's fine to turn down a ciggerate or a beer because it's unhealthy or if you just don't feel like it. It's NOT OK to turn it down just because you are a a girl and "it's not nice for girls to be that way".
We all know that Women in India are automized, whatever a man does-"ACCEPT" everything... If it's done by him it's always correct, even if he does anything wrong ACCEPT it, because he is a man. But don't we know, If it is wrong for a woman then it's wrong for a man too and vice versa ... We are all humans... She speaks about each individual's choices, that's it... We have a need to know because we never consider a woman's choice, not saying what all she said are correct or great things to do in life.... By the words, the video is not leading all the women to do or not to do whatever the words mean but clarifies each woman has her own choice... No woman will go blindly and does things, thinking Deepika said so.. Sex out side marriage is definitely a crime as severe as rape (for me having sex before marriage is also a crime so, not to have is my choice) and it is mentioned too but no one bothers about that!!!!
Sex outside of marriage means sex when UNMARRIED. That includes divorcees and widows. It is NOT sex with other people while married because that is a heinous crime.
Firstly,I just want to say , "Its not about men all the time. One missed point and all her effort goes in vain? Accept it or not: This video is just to say that women are more judged of their choices than men are. Thats about it! Nobody is taking away Men's freedom, we never have or could! but just give equal freedom and be less judgmental about the choices girls/women make too!"
Second,It is the truth of the world, it is what is happening with people of the world "ACCEPT" it.... She has not raised her voice to create something nonexistent... It is, what's already existing. ACCEPT it without gender bifurcation.
And finally,It is just a video which reflects inner voices of some females who want to be heard, not universal at all. However the bottom line is every one has a choice and needs to be respected. I exercise my choice here.
